| Description: |
| 308 CAL; 85% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 17.5'' barrel, Conversion in Spain during the early 1960's to resemble and supplement as a stop gap measure the newly adopted CETME rifle in 7.62x51mm NATO chambering, the FR-7 variation used M1916 Mauser small ring action rifles. Many of the FR7 and FR8 carbines remained in service for a period of time with the civil guard and police. Matching bolt. Walnut stock, the handguard altered by being cut out in the center?, not an original alteration. Elevation adjustable front sight. Rotating rear sight with V notch and choice of two apertures. This example has had some camo paint added by a recent owner. CAI import marked on the end of the barrel. There have been quite a few opinions, articles and posts on various forums over the years about use of the standard 7.62mm NATO and .308 Winchester cartridges in these small ring action FR-7 Mauser rifles. We personally recommend a lighter loading for these rifles just to be on the safe side., s/n 015xx |
