| 45-70 caliber; 93% blue, very good+ bore, very good+ stock, 32 1/2'' barrel, Vintage Springfield Model 1873 "Trapdoor" 45-70 rifle. The stock is in very good+ condition with cartouche "swp 1880". Mechanically in excellent and very clean condition crisp and tight action with strong springs. Bore is bright with great rifling. Barrel bands marked "u". The barrel is marked "V. P." with a "P" proof mark. Steel buttplate marked with "US". The right side is marked with an Eagle, U.S. / SPRINGFIELS / 1878. Trapdoor is marked, U.S. / MODEL / 1873. ANTIQUE., s/n 1468xx |
