| 45-70 Govt; very good bore, good stock, 22'' barrel, Original metal finish has turned an even patina over all, walnut stock with SWP 1883 date cartouche. No compartment in stock of door in buttplate for cleaning rod storage. C marked rear sight base and ladder, ladder graduated for 1500 yards, base for 800 yards. Front sight blade is not pinned. 1873 dated breechblock. Eagles head and VP proofs over the left side of the barrel. U.S. marked buttplate tang. The trigger guard has had the bossed for the sling swivel gorund off. Filled partial cleaning rod channel on the bottom of the forend tip. Wood shows wear and handling with a small crack on the left side between the rear sling bar base and receiver. Mechanically fine with a three click tumbler, firing pin without spring, thicker receiver. Antique, s/n 2258xx |
