| 45-70 Govt; fair bore, poor stock, 22'' barrel, Original metal finish and walnut stock. Clear boxed SWP/1887 cartouche on left side of the stock. Boxed NJ stamped on left side of the forend and "NJ" stamped on left side of barrel. 1884 dated breechblock. Fixed front and Buffington type rear sight. VP and Eagleshead proofs on barrel. Trapdoor buttplate. US stamped buttplate tang. Original trapdoor carbine, the exposed metal has surface rusting and some minor pitting. The stock has a crack on the right side which runs back from the trigger guard to the wrist and up and around the front of the stock comb. Action works fine. The bore has strong rifling with rust throughout. Antique, s/n 3793xx |
