| 30-06 Springfield; very good bore, very good stock, 24'' barrel, Old school sporter built on a high number Springfield 1903 action with the original military barrel, no legible date remains on the barrel. Thin finish on the barrel, action has approx 85% blued finish. Mounted in a plain walnut stock with pistol grip and cheekrest. Ebony forend tip and grip cap, diamond shaped inlay on each side below the action. Vintage Kunkel & Sons rubber buttplate fitted. Military trigger. Original bolt, body polished bright, handle modifed for scope clearance with the knob flatted on the bottom, and a low scope safety installed. Bolt catch slightly modified. Holes in the bottom of the forend and butt from once installed sling swivels. Military front sight retained. Receiver drilled and tapped with Weaver type bases installed. A Tasco 3-9x40 scope is mounted with Weaver rings. Duplex reticle with clear optics. Tow small holes drilled on top of the barrel about an inch apart. The right side of the receiver bridge is drilled and tapped for an aperture sight, the stock cut out fpor the sight. Has a single larger drilled and tapped hole as well? The bore is bright with strong rifling, minor visible corrosion along the rifling grooves. Muzzle=.301., s/n 14817xx |
