| 50-70 Government; excellent bore, excellent stock, 36'' barrel, This is an exceptional example center fire rolling block rifle with a blade front sight and a folding leaf rear sights that folds backward on the bright barrel. Casehardened receiver, with "MODEL 1871" on the left side, two line Remington patent markings on this upper tang, and the eagle motif over "U.S./SPRINGFIELD 1872" on the right side. Smooth straight grip stock, with two barrel bands, script "EM" cartouche on the wrist, sling swivels and a "US" marked steel buttplate. The unpolished arsenal bright barrel shows a very light mix of brown and gray patina. Stock is excellent, with very light handling/storage wear. Cleaning rod is present. Antique., |
