| 45-70 cal; fair bore, poor stock, 20.75'' barrel, Blue/patina mix metal finish with minor pitting overall. Action works well. The barrel has been shortened to its length and no front sight affixed or evidence of any fitting for one. The rear sight has been removed as well. The stock and trigger guard appear to be original carbine, however the saddle ring bar has been ground off, leaving the bases. The buttplate has a trap so it is not correct for a carbine. The stock has been modified with carving and sanding/re-shaping. The stock is cracked at the wrist and leather thong has been wrapped around that area., s/n 992xx |
