| 50 Caliber; good bore, excellent stock, 32 1/2'' barrel, TRA DOOR SPRINGFIELD 1870 ALLENS CONVERSION IN ANTIQUE EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE RIFLE WAS ORIGINALLY AN 1863 SPRINGFIELD .58 CALIBER MUZZLE LOADER. IN 1870 IT WAS CONVERTED TO THE TRAP DOOR CONFIGURATION AND CHAMBERED IN .50 CENTERFIRE. THE FINISH IS IN THE WHITE. THE BORE HAS LIGHT OXIDATION THROUGH OUT WITH GOOD RIFLING. THE STOCK IS EXCELLENT AS RE ARSENALLED. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF AN ALLENS 1870 TRAPDOOR CONVERSION., s/n 469xx |
