| 32 Rimfire; fair bore, fair grips, 8.25'' barrel, J Sevens Heavy Frame "pocket rifle" with the barrel shortened to just over 8 inches. Brass bead front sight added, original dovetailed V notched rear sight. Grip frame butt and backstrap have the original holes for the wire frame stock, now gone with the screws filling the holes. Iron 1.25" wide frame, traces of blued finish. Octagonal barrel with round muzzle, finish turned light patina. The left side barrel flat is stamped "J. STEVENS & CO. CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. PAT. SEPT. 6, 1864". Action functions fine. Barrel has a bit of wobble in lockup. Bore has moderate corrosion throughout. Comes in a vintage Bucheimer belt holster which fits it rather well., s/n 17xx |
