Marked on top of the receiver with the "S" stamp indicating upgrade to the 7.9x57JS cartridge. 1890 dated. The rifle has no German Imperial military aceptance markings. The lower barrel band is unit marked on the right side "11.J.2.17". No import markings. The bore has shine and strong rifling, showing light corrosion in the grooves. Original cleaning rod.
