| 6.5x53mmR; 70% blue, good bore, good stock, 18'' barrel, Portuguese contract manufactured by Steyr in Austria. Based on the Mannlicher M1893 rifles and carbines produced for Roumania. Original blued finish aging to patina overall. Walnut stock. Non-matching proper bolt with turned down handle and trigger/magazine housing. Stock is matching, marked on the right side of the butt. Original leather sling and cleaning rod. Fixed front sight. Ladder rear sight with graduations up to 1700 meters. Ladder is missing the small stop screw at the top. Stamped on the left side of the receiver "STEYR 1896". Portuguese Crest on top of the receiver chamber. Serial numbered on the right side of the barrel and receiver. The metal has some light pitting along the wood line and on the bolt release. The stock shows handling, there is a minor crack in front of the magazine and on the left side of the butt at the buttplate. Bore shows strong rifling, dark in the grooves. CAI import markings on the left side of the receiver ring, mis-marked as an "M1893 Roumanian"., s/n A1xx |
