| 85% blue, very good+ bore, very good+ stock, 39'' barrel, A favorite of both US and CSA in the Civil War. 25 bore, the lock markings are the standard “Victoria Crown” in back of the hammer with clear block letters “1862 / TOWER” in front of the hammer. Barrel is stamped with, Crown/stylized BP, 25, crown/V, 25, crown/???. Furniture has mild handling/storage wear and adorns a brass forend cap, brass buttplate and a brass raised US escutcheon steel trigger guard has been broken and soldered on front tang. All mechanics are strong and crisp. Barrel surface exhibits a dark plum color. Ram rod is present as well as a 17-inch British proofed 1853 Pattern triangular blade bayonet. Antique., |
