| Lot of two (2) civilian helmets. First is a 1930s era conservation corp safety helmet, styled after the WW1 M1917 "brodie" helmets, made of lighter weight steel with a rolled under rim. OD green paint finish appears original and remains at about 90%. The liner consists of six web straps attached to six welded wire loops under the rim, with a leather sweat band rivited to each strap. Unmarked, there are small globs of darker green paint under the rim here and there. The leather swede chin strap is a probable replacement and has a hammered brass buckle. Overall very good condition. Included is a Civil Defense helmet, marked under the rim GOVT/PROPERTY/O.C.D. Complete liner and chin strap. Original white paint finish showing some wear and dirt., |
