| New made and issued from 1936 until the early part of WW2. McCord produced most of the new made M1917A1 helmets. This example has a marking I am not familiar with, which appears to be "ALLEN'S" over EE in a diamond. The paint fill makes the mark hard to made out. Possibly an older repaint with a light OD over heavy cork finish, retaining about 80% original paint finish, original leather liner assembly and web chin strap. The leather apex pad is installed under the fingers of the liner, as is sometimes seen. No heat lot number found, only the makers stamped mark. Overall in very good condition., |
