| 58 Cal; Good bore, very good stock, 40'' barrel, Springfield Armory manaufacture, dated 1859 on the lockplate and top of the barrel. Original bright finished metal, mounted in a walnut stock. VP/eagles head proofed on the left side of the barrel. Complete with the original ramrod. The stock is stamped with a large S on the left side flat. The metal shows some scattered dark spotting and the wood has scattered small dings and scuffs. The action work fine. Complete and original. The ramrod is bent some on the exposed end. A nice original example of one the main firearms issued early during the American Civil War. Antique., |
