WWI U.S. ARMY UNIFORM of Lawrence B Norton from Jonesport Maine who was Mess Sgt in Company K of the 73 Infantry part of the 12th Infantry Division Uniform includes his coat and breeches. Insignia consists of Red Discharge Stripe, Silver Stateside Service Chevron, and Mess Sgt Chevron. Collar Brass is US and Infantry K with 73 scratched on it. This group includes a large assortment of original period paper items. Many wartime letters, his Gov Insurance Cert, some draft material, post cards, several rolled pictures of Camp Devens extra Sgt Chevron and Service pin in his uniform buttonhole and a framed poppy picked in France. There is a framed photo of him in his uniform, a cloth folder with a photo of his mother, photo of his brother (Who served in the Navy) and a photo of a group of soldiers. Also, there is a sons in service flag with two stars and copies of Modern Research on him. He died in 1994 at the age of 97. It appears he was a much-loved teacher and local personality in Jonesport, Maine.,
