| Handmade Montagnard native crossbow, complete with a bamboo scabbard which holds 9 handmade bolts. The Montagnard were indigenous peoples of the Highlands, many of which volunteered, trained and fought with US and Australian forces during the war, instrumental in their scouting and knowledge of the regions. Not only were the Montagnard experts with these simple weapons, many preferred using them instead of modern weapons in fighting. Also includes a framed original note with the translated print "To MAS/GUN SGT David R. Robles U.S.M.C. From PS/SGT John C. Lowe", followed by other personal information, along with "This is What I Told(?).To Be Given To you From all you men Recon". The bow measure 50" in length, the stock 31". The bamboo scabbard has split and has tape wrapped around it to secure, and is missing any cord for carrying. |
