| 442 Cal; fair bore, good grips, 6'' barrel, Manufactured in England circa 1860s. Original metal finish has worn to gray with some evidence of cleaning. Original checkered walnut grip. Standard British proofing of the period.. Double action with a 5-shot cylinder. Two-line border and some scroll engraving. The top of the frame strap is retailer marked "R. B. RODDA & CO. LONDON & CALCUTTA". The right side of the frame is engraved with the serial number. The left side of the frame in front of the cylinder is engraved with initials "HH", possibly the engraver. The left side of the frame below the cylinder and side of the loading lever are stamped "TRANTERS/PATENT". The metal is clean with clearly legible markings, having scattered small areas minor-light pitting. There is corrosion around each of the cylinder nipples. Mechanically fine. The bore has some rusting. Antique., s/n 177xxT |
