THE PISTOLS SERIAL RANGE IS REFERENCED ON PAGE 251 IN THE GORDON BRUCE BOOK "WEBLEY & SCOTT AUTOMATIC PISTOLS". THIS WAS THE 13'TH PRE PRODUCTION 455 WEBLEY AUTOMATIC MADE IN 1911. IT HAS THE EARLY LEGEND ON THE LEFT SLIDE "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD. / LONDON & BIRMINGHAM / .455 AUTOMATIC". THE FACTORY ORIGINAL HIGH POLISH TEMPERED BLUING SHOWS LIGHT HIGH EDGE WEAR ALONG WITH NUMEROUS LIGHT MARKS AND SCRATCHES. THERE IS AN AREA OF RUST PITTING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BARRELS MUZZLE. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH EXCELLENT METFORD RIFLING. THE CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS ARE VERY GOOD SHOWING VERY LIGHT WEAR. THE MAGAZINE IS ORIGINAL, CORRECT AND WILL SEAT PROPERLY HOWEVER THERE IS A DENT ON THE RIGHT SIDE AT THE CENTER VIEWING HOLE WHICH APPEARS TO BE CAUSING A BIND WHEN INSERTED CAUSES HARD MAGAZINE EXTRACTION. |
