| 38-56 WCF; fair bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1889. Full octagonal barrel with the original silver blade fixed front sight. Rear semi buckhorn sight is a replacement. Two line Winchester address stamped on top of the barrel. Finish on the barrel has browned with traces of original blue in protected areas. Case hardened receiver has silvered with patina mix. Barrel and receiver have some rust spotting. Plain walnut stock with crescent butt. Wood shows age with smal slivers of wood missing at the corners of the upper tang. The upper tang is broken across the top behind the hammer which doesn't affect function but will need repair. The bore has some shine and fairly strong rifling, however has levels of rust and corrosion throughout. Action functions fine. Antique., s/n 291xx |
