| 44-40 Winchester; 90% blue, very good bore, very good stock, 20'' barrel, Manufactured in 1896. Original blued finish and plain walnut stock. Round barrel with fixed front sight, pinned silver blade. Ladder rear sight. Two line Winchester address on top of the barrel with the caliber designation "44 W.C.F." over the chamber. Marked on top of the upper tang "MODEL 1892/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. OCT. 14, 1884.". Nice original finish on the barrel and magazine tube. Finish generous but fadiing to patina on the receiver with some minor spotting. Slight ring marks on the left side of the frame and stock wrist. Soild wood showing fairly light handling wear with a nice oil patina. Sling swivel eyes have been added to the right side of the butt and lower barrel band. Trace blued finish on the crescent steel buttplate. Very generous case colors remain on the lever and sides of the hammer. Trhe bore has shine and fairly sharp rifling. Mechanically in fine condition. Antique, s/n 1370xx |
