| 38-55 Cal; fair bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1901. Metal has worn and aged to silver/grey patina with spotting and some light to moderate pitting on all metal surfaces. Plain walnut stock with crescent butt, wood is worn however shows no major damage or cracking. Full octagon barrel, fixed front sight with old replaced brass blade. Elevation adjustable rear sight with thumb slider. Stamped on top of the barrel with the Winchester address and patent dates in two lines. Caliber designation located on top of the barrel chamber. Upper tang is stamped "Model 1894 / -WINCHESTER- / PAT. AUG. 21. 1894". Full length magazine tube barrel mount is loose, and old reinforcing tape has been added around the barrel and magazine tube to hold in place. The action functions fine. The bore is dark in the grooves, rifling is strong, showing light pitting throughout. Import marked., s/n 2218xx |
