| 40-72 WCF; poor bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1896. Original finish and walnut stock, forend with ebony tip. Round barrel with silver bladed fixed front sight, buckhorn style elevation adjustable rear sight is a replacement. Flatside frame. Barrel stamped on top with the Winchester address in two lines. Caliber marking on top of the barrel chamber. The upper receiver tang is stamped "WINCHESTER/MODEL 1895". The metal has turned a light brown patina with traces of blue finish, with spotting and minor pitting over all. Complete and mechanically fine. Antique, s/n 30xx |
