| 38 WCF; fair bore, fair stock, 24'' barrel, Manufactured in 1887. Original metal finish, turned patina with spotting and some minor to light pitting over all. Original walnut stock worn with dings and gouges, the stock has an old crack along the left side. Marked on top of the full octagon barrel with the two-line Winchester's New Haven address over King's Improvement and patent dates 1866 and 1860. All markings remain legible. Original fixed front sight with silver blade and elevation adjustable rear sights. The frame sliding dust cover is a replacement. The action work fine, the cartridge elevator needs some attention, needs assistance to lower when cycling the lever. The right side of the buttstock has the chambering lightly carved "38-40".
