| 33 WCF; 50% blue, fair bore, good stock, 24'' barrel, Manufactured in 1911. Original blue finish, mounted in a walnut stock with shotgun butt. Half magazine tube. Stamped on the left side of the round barrel with a two-line Winchester adress and patent dates 1884-1885, and -NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER under the rear sight. The top of the barrel and frame are stamped with the Winchester oval proof. Stamped on top of the upper tang MODEL 1886/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF. The serial number is located on the lower tang. The metal finish shows wear and thinning overall, the frame having lost most of the finish. The wood has been lightly sanded and refinished at some point, with a cleaning up small chip on the toe of the butt and buttplate. There are scattered small dings and scratches. There is also a small filled hole on the bottom of the butt where a sling swivel stud was once installed. Mechanically fine. The bore has strong rifling and is dark throughout. C&R/FFL, s/n 1515xxA |
