| 22 Long; poor bore, poor stock, 18'' barrel, This is a single shot bolt action rifle with silver grey finish to barrel & action that has some pitting at receiver. Plain wood stock has been broken and repaired at wrist, no butt plate. This unique design eliminated the conventional trigger and guard commonly located on the bottom of the action. Instead the trigger was located behind the cocking piece and activated using the thumb when held at aim. Produced from 1904 through 1923 with just over 75,000 made. The top center of the barrel is marked, "THUMB TRIGGER MODEL.-WINCHESTER / NEW HAVEN, CONN.USA PAT AUG.29.99.FEB.14.1095 - .22 SHORT AND LONG-TRADE MARK-". Bore is corroded. Import marked., s/n 2 |
