| 45 Cal; 75% blue, very good bore, good stock, 28'' barrel, Original blue finish barrel, stock mounts and frame, casehardened hinged breechblock, mounted in checkered walnut. Straight stock grip with a horn forend tip, serrated butt. Fixed inverted V front sight, military type ladder rear sight graduated 500-900 yards. Exact chambering is not known. The barrel is marked on top "W.R. MARNES, MAKER. LONDON.". The breechblock is engraved "JOHN BOUCHER/ INVENTOR/ 1867" and has some floral scroll engraving on the frame, breechblock and trigger guard. Fine over all with some scattered minor-light pitting on the barrel. The barrel finish is beginning to turn brown evenly. Several small dings and scratches on the stock. Mechanically fine. Antique, |
