| WW1 U.S. Army uniform of Private Orville R. Brigle from Montpelier, Ohio. Private Brigle served in France with the 282 Aero Squadron. This grup consists of his caot, breeches, puttees, overseas cap, overcoat and ditty bag. Coat insignia includes on gold overseas chevron, a large 282 Aero Squadron shoulder patch, collar brass is US and Signal Corp. Overcoat insignia is one gold overseas chevron. The overcoat is missing three of its buttons. Ditty bag has his name and unit. There is a loose red discharge stripe. Research includes a copy of his discharge, copy of his obituary, a summary of his service record from the books listing Ohip servicemen and a brief history of the 282 Aero Squadron which was overseas from August to December 1918 as part of the service of supply. Items are in clean condition with no major damage. |
