CANiK SFx RIVAL-SAls es darum ging, die CANiK Wettkampfpistole zu benennen, bestand die Herausforderung darin, einen Namen zu finden, der das Ziel widerspiegelt, das wir uns bei der Entwicklung dieser Waffe gesetzt hatten. Das Ziel war einfach: Diese Plattform sollte gleichwertig oder besser sein als alles, was im Bereich des sportlichen Wettkampfschießens verwendet wird, und dem Benutzer einen deutlichen Vorteil verschaffen, um zu gewinnen! Mit diesem Gedanken war der Name schnell klar: Diese Waffe ist zweifellos der "RIVAL". Kein anderer Name könnte das Design so klar ausdrücken: Ein überlegenes Modell, das alle anderen Pistolen herausfordern kann, betritt nun die Bühne. Mit speziell entwickelten Funktionen, um die Konkurrenz zu übertreffen, wie einem verbesserten Beavertail, aggressiven Frontschlittenrillen, einem tieferen Abzugsbügelwinkel, einer neuen Holster-Fit-and-Lock (HFL)-Funktion und dem neuen selbst-erweiterten Magwell-Rahmendesign. Mit dem neuen Rahmendesign, das mit einem verstellbaren Kimme und Korn und einem Fiberoptik-Korn ausgestattet ist, wird die Handhabung und Zielerfassung der Pistole drastisch verbessert. Die 1185g schwere CANiK SFx RIVAL-S ist 205,5mm lang, hat einen 5″ Lauf, ist 36mm breit und hat eine Höhe von 45mm.
