Die Patronen mit dem bleifreien LFB 3 BAND CLASSIC Geschoss (früher Jaguar Classic) wurden auf der Basis einer Jahrhunderte alten Technologie für Artilleriegeschosse entwickelt. Die aerodynamische Geschossform (hoher ballistischer Koeffizient) bewirkt, dass auch bei langsameren Kalibern eine deutlich gestrecktere Flugbahn erreicht wird. Das LFB 3 BAND CLASSIC Geschoss ist ein Teilzerlegungsgeschoss. Ungefähr 20% bis 30% der Geschossmasse im vorderen Bereich des Geschosses wird im Wildkörper in grosse Splitter zerlegt. Der hintere Teil des Geschosses wird gestaucht und erzeugt den gewünschten Ausschuss. Dadurch wird eine hohe Tötungswirkung erreicht. Die Verbindung der aerodynamischen Geschossform mit der offenen Hohlspitze und der speziellen Kupferlegierung bewirkt eine sehr gute Wildbretschonung und verringert das Risiko der Hämatombildung.
