Die Rehgruppe, die zwischen den kargen Baumstämmen des winterlichen Laubwaldes steht, bilden das Hauptmotiv der jagdlichen Szene. Dem Künstler gelingt es, die volle Aufmerksamkeit auf die zwei Wildtiere zu richten, indem er sie groß und mittig platziert. Das fahle Sonnenlicht, die dunkelbraun gefärbte Winterdecke der Rehe, die beigen Farben der Baumstämme sowie die schneeweißen Tupfer sind die dominierenden Farben in diesem Gemälde. Ein imposantes Gemälde, ein außergewöhnliches Schmuckstück für Ihre Jagdhütte, das Jagdzimmer oder Entree ihres Hauses, Hotels oder sonstiges. Gerahmt wurde das Gemälde durch einen einfachen Holrahmen.
