| The Walther G41 AC43 is the Prototype of the G41 WWII rifle. Extremly Rare. The rifle is in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. - Serial #764 - Original ZF41 scope - All Matching Serial Numbers The G41 is a battle rifle manufactured and used by Nazi Germany during WWII. It was largely overthrown by the G43. By 1940, it became obvious that a higher rate of fire power was needed to replace the existing bolt-action rifles to improve the infantry's combat efficiency. The Army issued a demand to various manufacturers, among which Mauser and Walther submitted prototypes that were very similar. Some restrictions were put in place :
Both models featured a mechanism known as the "Bang" system, named after its Danish designer Søren H. Bang. In this system, propellant gases were captured by a cone-shaped gas trap at the muzzle, which in turn deflected them to operate a small piston which in turn pushed on a long piston rod that opened the breech and re-loaded the gun.
