The Sig Sauer P226 is a combat pistol widely distributed in the various intervention units around the world. It was he who notably allowed the brand to perpetuate its reputation as a picky manufacturer. It is difficult today to find an experienced professional who does not have a flattering word for this model. Subsequently the formidable mechanics of the P226 were improved to better match the standards of dynamic sport shooting.
 
This new version was called Sig P226 X-Five (because of its 5 "barrel) then X-Five for short. The weapon received a triumphant reception from American and European shooters, enthusiastic to finally be able to benefit from the German-Swiss know-how with a pistol dedicated to their discipline. This sport version of the P226 was also declined with a 6 "barrel, taking at the same time the name of X-Six.
 
This X-Five has oversized controls which give it extraordinary maneuverability. Whether it is the bolt retainer or the ambidextrous safety, the grooved contact area naturally presents itself under the thumb and is activated in a fraction of a second. A little extra touch of luxury: all these controls are also chrome.
 
This pistol is considerably heavier than a standard P226, but its cylinder head itself has been made lighter than the base model. The guide rod has also been fitted with a very efficient damper. A faster cycle follows, but less recoil than on the original version.
 
This cylinder head receives a total of 5 deeply ridged zones: two on the sides at the rear, two on the sides at the front and one last above at the front. Far from distorting the weapon, these tightenings blend harmoniously into its elaborate visual. The sights consist of an adjustable match rise (windage and elevation) stamped Sig Sauer.
 
Once aligned with the serrated blade front sight, it allows for rapid and very precise target acquisition. In addition to its preparation by Mastershop experts, the trigger of this model is adjustable according to a wide spectrum. The user can therefore adjust his stroke, his weight and even his width for a release in perfect correlation with his touch.
