Das Aimpoint CompM4s wurde für Anwender entwickelt, die eine professionelle Rotpunkt-Optik benötigen, um sie unter extrem rauen Bedingungen zu verwenden. Die U.S. Army hat die Aimpoint CompM4 Visierreihe M68CCO (Close Combat Optic) seit über zwei Jahrzehnten gewählt. Das CompM4s ist heute mit über 100.000 Visieren derzeit in den US Streitkräften in Gebrauch. Das CompM4s wird von einer einzigen AA Batterie für mehr als 80.000 Stunden (8 Jahre) Dauerbetrieb und über 500.000 Stunden in den Nachtsichteinstellungen angetrieben. Das CompM4s verfügt über ein niedriges Batteriefach. Das CompM4s kommt mit einer Gummi Bikini Objektivabdeckung und dem killFlash® Antireflektionsgerät (ARD), um ein Glitzern der Frontlinse in der Hitze des Gefechts zu verhindern. Diese Konfiguration des CompM4s enthält das Visier, eine QRP2 Montage und einen Standard Abstandhalter. Das Visiergehäuse ist aus hart anodisierter Aluminiumlegierung für einen optimalen Schutz der elektronischen und optischen Komponenten unter allen Arten von Umgebungsbedingungen aufgebaut. Das 2 MOA Rotpunkt visier passt perfekt zu dem Aimpoint 3XMag-1(TM) Vergrößerungsglas und allen Generationen von Nachtsichtgeräten.
