Details Die Patrone wurde 1903 entwickelt und erhielt ihre endgültigen Dimensionen 1906, dem Jahr, in dem sie auch als Ordonnanzpatrone in den USA ("Ball Cartridge, Caliber .30, Model of 1906") eingeführt wurde. Die Patrone wurde schnell als Jagd- und Sportpatrone beliebt. Heute ist es wohl das beliebteste Universalkaliber, mit dem sicherlich schon alle Wildarten auf der Erde erlegt wurden. Die Einsatzweite reicht bis etwa 300 m. Eine hervorragende Allroundpatrone, die mit Geschossen von 9,7 bis 13,0 g sehr präzise ist und jagdlich extrem universell einsetzbar ist. Die .30-06 Springfield ist auch noch gut von rückstoßempfindlichen Schützen schießbar. Evolution - ein gebondetes, massestabiles Deformationsgeschoss, das anders als Teilzerlegungsgeschosse auch nach Knochentreffern und bei schwererem Wild zuverlässig eine hohe Tiefenwirkung mit hoher Ausschusswahrscheinlichkeit sichert. Die konstruktiven Vorteile des Evolution-Geschosses (siehe Geschossaufbau) tragen gerade den Unwägsamkeiten der Jagd Rechnung. So stellt das Geschoss unabhängig von Schussentfernung und Stärke des Wildes stets zuverlässige Deformation bei nahezu 100% Restgewicht sicher. Bei höheren Wildgewichten entfaltet sich die außergewöhnliche Tiefenwirkung besonders gut. Damit eignet es sich kaliberabhängig für alle europäischen Wildarten, spielt aber seine Dominanz besonders bei schwererem Wild (ab 30-40 kg, je nach Kaliber) aus. Mehr Informationen
