Sa détente superbe, en particulier en double action, et sa poignée à l'ergonomie très confortable se combinent pour obtenir un tir rapide et précis. Les revolvers Ruger ont la particularité d'avoir un châssis monobloc et un système de verrouillage du barillet très précis et solide, qui rendent ces armes particulièrement robustes, précises, et résistantes à l'usure, en particulier pour ceux qui tirent la .357 Magnum à pleine charge. Ce revolver n'a tiré que quelques centaines de coups, essentiellement en .38 Wadcutter. Il est donc dans un état impeccable, et a été entièrement nettoyé aux ultrasons et inspecté par un armurier.
