Erschienen 1965 im Verlag der Verbandsdruckerei in Bern. 224 Seiten mit vielen Illustrationen. Guter, frischer Zustand ! Rudolf Minger (geboren am 13. November 1881 in Mülchi; gestorben am 23. August 1955 in Schüpfen BE; heimatberechtigt in Mülchi und Schüpfen) war ein Schweizer Politiker und gehörte der Bauern-, Gewerbe- und Bürgerpartei (BGB) an. Er war von 1929 bis 1940 Mitglied des Schweizerischen Bundesrates und hatte dort das zu Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs wichtige Amt des Verteidigungsministers inne. Unter seiner Ägide wurden die Rekrutenschule von 67 auf 118 und die der Wiederholungskurse von 13 auf 20 Tage verlängert. Minger inszenierte mehrere sogenannte 'Volkstage' und Defilees. Die Wehranleihe von 1936 gilt als Höhepunkt dieser Bemühungen, wurde sie doch trotz geringem Zins deutlich überzeichnet. Ohne Wissen des Bundesrates erteilte Minger im Februar 1937 Generalstabschef Jakob Labhardt den Auftrag, ein Chemiewaffen-Programm auszuarbeiten. Dessen Aufbau erfolgte geheim, denn die Schweiz hatte 1932 ein Protokoll des Völkerbundes ratifiziert, das die Anwendung von erstickenden, giftigen und ähnlichen Gasen sowie von bakteriologischen Waffen im Krieg verbot. Als 1938 die Umsetzung der Armeereform drängte, war Minger aber lustlos an der Arbeit. In seinem Departement wurde gemunkelt, der Milchpreis interessiere ihn mehr als die Armee !! |
