Die CZ Z ist eine kompakte tschechoslowakische Selbstladepistole im Kaliber 6.35mmBr. (6.35mm Browning / .25 ACP). Die Pistole geht konstruktiv auf die von František Dušek in Opočno gefertigte DUO zurück. Nach der Verstaatlichung der Firma wurde die Produktion nach Uherský Brod verlagert und die Pistole unter der Bezeichnung Z beziehungsweise CZ-DUO weitergeführt. Konstruktiv orientiert sich die kleine Pistole deutlich an der FN 1906. Die kompakte Ganzstahlkonstruktion, das einreihige Magazin und die einfache Bauweise sind charakteristisch für diese tschechoslowakische Taschenpistole. Im Gegensatz zur FN 1906 wurde bei der DUO/Z auf die Handballensicherung verzichtet. Durch ihre geringe Grösse und das Kaliber 6.35mmBr. gehört die CZ Z zur klassischen Kategorie der europäischen Taschenpistolen. Heute ist sie insbesondere als historische tschechoslowakische Pistole und als Vertreter der kleinen Selbstladepistolen dieser Zeit interessant.
