Ce modèle est un des premier fabriqué (S/N 286), en parfait état et le système de déclenchement à distance et opérationnel et ne nécessite aucun ajustement ou réparations. L'affût M63 a été adopté en Mai 1944, et environ 48000 exemplaires ont été fabriqués durant la WW2, par la Heintz Manufacturing Co., de Philadelphie, à la demande du Airborne Command, qui désirait un affût de poids raisonnable (le M63 pèse 144 pounds, soit 65,4 kg) pour monter sur des embarcations légères ou transportables dans des endroits inaccessibles aux véhicules.
