| 45 ACP; 85% blue, good bore, good grips, 5'' barrel, This pistol falls into a known British contract serial number range during WW2, s/n range 8900-22,000, with the B prefix number 3261 stamped on the right side of the frame. Many of these were used by the British SOE agents during the war operating behind enemy lines in France. Original blued finish with grooved wooden grips. Matching serial numbers on the frame, slide and barrel lug. British crown/CP proofs located on the left rear frame and slide. The barrel chamber is stamped with the "tons" export markings. The magazine is a blued WW2 vintage Scovill manufacture replacement. The slide has areas on each side of finish loss. Thinned finish on the grip frame straps. Scattered handling scratches and a scratch from assembly of the slide catch. The grip panels have some nicks on the edges of the grooves and there is a tight crack on the bottom of the left grip. Mechanically fine and clean. The bore shows some frost and light corrosion in the grooves. No import markings., s/n 157xx |
