| 36 Caliber; fair bore, very good grips, 7.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1857. Revolver has been altered having an Army grip, brass trigger guard and steel backstrap, the trigger guard appears re-numbered to match and the backstrap is mis-matched, with trace silver plate finish. Trace blued finish and case color on the frame, however the revolver is mostly an even patina overall. Octagon barrel marked on the top "-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.-". Left side of the frame stamped "COLT'S/PATENT". Matching serial numbers except the backstrap and un-numbered wedge. Cylinder retains approximately 60% of the Naval battle scene. Trigger guard has had some polishing. The hammer screw is a likely replacement, as well as the backstrap screw on the butt of the frame. The bore has strong rifling with pitting throughout. The action functions however the hammers full cock is worn, allowing the hammer to rebound at times. Antique, s/n 810xx |
