| 56 Cal; 80% blue, very good bore, good stock, 21'' barrel, "British Carbine" variation, original blue finish, brass trigger guard and buttplate, casehardened hammer and loading lever, walnut stock with checkered straight grip. Brass fixed blade front sight. Fixed rear sight with one standing leaf, 300 and 500 yard folding down leafs. Matching numbers. Saddle ring on left frame. 5-shot cylinder. British proofs on left side of barrel and each cylinder chamber. Marked on the frames topstrap "COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked "COLT'S PATENT/Nov. 24th 1850". Cylinder marked inside one flute "PATENTED SEPT. 10TH 1850". The metal finish has areas of some thinning and handling marks. Dulling case color visible on hammer and lever. The checkering on the stock was done long ago but likely not factory. Mechanically fine with a crisp and tight action. Antique, s/n 119xx |
