| 38 Centerfire; 50% blue, very good bore, good grips, 7.5'' barrel, Manufactured c.1870's. Percussion revolver sent to the factory for conversion commercially. Matching serial numbers, the cylinder having the matching number added at the factory under a non-matched number. Un-numbered wedge. Blued finish barrel with ejector rod assembly installed, loading lever hole plugged in the front of the lug. Casehardened frame with fading case color and some spotting. Stamped on the left side with 1871 and 1872 patent dates in two lines. Single line Colt's address roll stamped on top of the round barrel. Brass trigger guard and backstrap with varnish finished walnut grip. Remains of silver plated finish on the bottom of the trigger guard and protected areas of the backstrap. Worn finish on the grip with handling marks. The cylinder retains approx 60% of the naval battle scene, blued finish fading. The barrel has spotting with small dings on the bottom and around the wedge slot on the right side. The action functions well. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Antique, s/n 294xx |
