THIS PISTOL IS REFERENCED ON PAGES 52/53 IN THE BOOK "THE GOVERNMENT MODELS" BY WILLIAM GODDARD AND 2 AWAY FROM THE EXAMPLE ILLUSTRATED. THE PISTOL IS 1 OF 250 MODEL 1900s DELIVERED TO THE US NAVY FOR TESTING. THE BRIGHT ORIGINAL BLUING RATES 96/97% EXHIBITING SUERFICIAL HANDLING MARKS OVERALL. THE TRIGGER RETAINS 98% OF ITS FIRE BLUE. THE PISTOL SHOWS EVIDENCE OF DISASSEMBLY AS ONE WOULD EXPECT FROM A TEST PISTOL. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH EXCELLENT RIFLING. THE SMOOTH WOOD GRIPS SHOW DINGS AND HANDLING MARKS ON THE RIGHT PANEL AND A HAIRLINE CRACK ON THE LEFT PANEL RUNNING SCREW TO SCREW.
