| 38 Rimfire; 70% blue, good bore, good grips, 3.5'' barrel, Manufactured c.1873-1880, with original blued finish barrel and cylinder, casehardened frame, brass trigger guard and backstrap with plain varnish finished walnut grip. Matching serial numbers. Solid barrel (not converted from percussion). Stagecoach scene on cylinder at 80% plus. Stamped on top of the barrel with the Colt's address in two lines. 1871 and 1872 patent dates on the left frame in two lines. Remants of silver plate finish on the brass trigger guard and backstrap. These revolvers were made without ejector or loading gate. Thin finish on the cylinder. The barrel has handling marks with small dings on the right side at the wedge slot. The action functions well. Bore has shine and strong rifling, minor corrosion throughout. Antique., s/n 45xx |
