| 45 ACP; good bore, very good grips, 5'' barrel, Originally produced in 1918, one of thousands of Colt M1911 .45 Caliber pistols which were arsenal refurbished for issue during WW2. Stamped on the right side of the frame "RIA" over FK, the inspector mark of Frank Krack and flaming bomb under the serial number. The right side of the slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". The left side of the slide is stamped with the two-line two block patent dates and Colt's address flanking the Rampant Colt logo. The left frame extension stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", and the faint eagleshead/S17 is visible above the magazine catch button. Blued finish HS and P marked replacement barrel by High Standard. Keyes Fiber small ring checkered plastic grips. Otherwise the small parts appear correct for the original M1911 pistol. Magazine is an original two-tone finish Barnes & Kolbert contract mag marked B on top of the base lip. The metal finish shows edge and handling wear with some thinning overall. Some minor spotting in the area on the right frame where the inspector marks are. Comes with a reproduction kraft box., s/n 4008xx |
