| 45 ACP; 87% blue, fair bore, good grips, 5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1941, this pistol was part of a second lot of just over 2200 pistols ordered by the Army in the middle of that year. Original blued finish and checkered walnut grips. The slide in mis-matched, however is from a pistol which was part of the same order, numbered 719921. Parts correct except for the grip safety which is a possible replacement. Slide marked on the left side with the two block two line patent dates and Colt's address flanking the Rampant Colt. The left side of the frame is stamped with inspector mark "CSR", with the P proof below the magazine catch. The top of the frame is stamped "CSR" and 'G' markings. The right side of the frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number, and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY" on the extension. Barrel stamped on the left lug 'P' with "COLT 45 AUTO" above the lug. 'G' stamped on the bottom in front of the lug. Metal finish remains bright, with edge wear and worn finish on the front grip strap. Scattered minor spotting. MS Little marked blued finish magazine. Grips show handling with wear at the bottom edges. Mechanically fine, clean internally. The bore has corrosion throughout., s/n 7205xx |
