| 22 LR; 95% blue, good bore, very good grips, 6.5'' barrel, First Series pre-Woodsman model with original blued finish and checkered walnut grips. Adjustable front and rear sights. Manufactured ca.1916. Original blued finish magazine, marked on the base "CAL. 22 / COLT". Colt's address and patent dates in two lines on top of the barrel "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED DEC.22, 1903". The left side of the slide is stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE". The Rampant Colt logo is located on the left side of the slide behind the serrations. The bottom of the barrel is stamped with letters "JJ". This example has British commercial proofing as well, small crown/V proofs located on the left side of the barrel, rear edge of the frame and slide, and is stamped on top of the barrels chamber "W.R. Pape/Newcastle-upon Tyne". The bottom of the grip frame at the magazine well has a number "M95959". This early pistol is in over all excellent condition. There are light scratched scattered around on the metal and some sharp edge wear. The grips have a few minor compressions. Mechanically fine and clean. The bore is a bit frosted with sharp rifling., s/n 13xx |
