Description:
44 Henry Rimfire; very good bore, very good+ grips, 7 1/2'' barrel, This early SAA, manufactured c.1875, is pictured and discussed in R.L. Wilson's 1st Edition book "The Book of Colt Firearms" on page 250. These SAA's were made in their own serial number range in the 44 Henry chambering and many ended up being sold in Mexico. This particular revolver was part of the collection of Robert Q. Sutherland. The information in the book states that it was found in Mexico, and was restored to its current condition. Nickel finish with plain varnish finished walnut grip. Numbers are matching. Stamped on top of the barrel in a single line "-COLTS PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.-". The left side of the frame below the cylinder is stamped with patent dates 1871 and 1872 in two lines. Restored to overall excellent condition. The barrels bore has a bit of frost in the grooves. Scattered very minor handling marks on the metal and some on the grip. Mechanically in fine condition and clean, likely not fired since restoration many years ago. Antique, s/n 3
