| 45 ACP; very good bore, very good grips, 5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1943. Original parkerized finish and checkered plastic grips with large screw rings. This pistol is parts correct with a matching serial number slide. Blued finish barrel, P stamped on the left lug with "COLT 45 AUTO" above the left lug. The left side of the slide is stamped with the two line patent dates and two line Colt's address flanking the Rampant Colt logo. "P" mark on top of the slide between the sight and ejection port. The matching serial number is located behind the firing pin stop. The frame is stamped on the right side "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY" forward of the slide catch pin hole. Ordnance wheel escutcheon stamped on the left frame behind the grip panel. The left side of the frame is stamped with the inspector mark "G.H.D." high behind the trigger and with the P proof below the magazine catch button. Blued finish magazine is marked L on top of the base lip. Checkered trigger face, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide catch, coarse checkered arched mainspring housing. Condition: Overalll Very Good plus, the metal finish showing some sharp edge wear with scattered light handling scratches. Thinning finish on the front grip frame strap with some spotting. The grips retain fairly sharp checkering with two or three minor nicks. Includes an original Boyt 42 M1916 leather holster which is in Good condition, turned dark over the years from oiling, with leather thong attached., s/n 9298xx |
